Concierge Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Rooted Airway & Orofacial Therapy
Helping Children (5+) and Adults Build the Foundation for Healthy Breathing, Sleeping, Eating, and Speaking
Sometimes the root of a challenge isn't just speech, feeding, or orthodontics—it's how the muscles of the face, mouth, and tongue work together every day.
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT) is a specialized therapy that focuses on restoring healthy patterns of breathing, tongue posture, lip closure, chewing, swallowing, and facial muscle function. These patterns influence far more than speech—they play an important role in sleep quality, airway health, dental development, facial growth, and overall wellness.
At Together Bloom, I provide concierge, in-home Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy on the east end and in Three Village area for children ages five and older, adolescents, and adults. Whether you're seeking therapy for your child or you've spent years wondering why symptoms never seem to resolve, you're in the right place.
What Is Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy?
Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy is an evidence-informed program of individualized exercises and functional retraining designed to improve the strength, coordination, and resting posture of the muscles of the tongue, lips, cheeks, and jaw.
The goal isn't simply to strengthen muscles—it's to help the body establish efficient, automatic patterns for breathing, resting, chewing, swallowing, and speaking.
These new patterns can support healthier airway function, improve oral stability, and complement treatment provided by orthodontists, dentists, ENTs, sleep physicians, lactation consultants, and other healthcare professionals.
Signs You or Your Child May Benefit from Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy
Children and adults may benefit from an evaluation if they experience:
Mouth breathing during the day or night
Difficulty breathing through the nose
Open-mouth resting posture
Low tongue posture
Tongue thrust when swallowing
Persistent speech sound differences
Snoring or disrupted sleep
Obstructive sleep apnea or concerns about airway health
Teeth grinding or jaw clenching
Jaw pain or TMJ discomfort
Orthodontic relapse after braces or aligners
Narrow palate or dental crowding
Difficulty chewing efficiently
Frequent lip licking or difficulty maintaining lip closure
History of tongue-tie or lip-tie release
Thumb sucking or prolonged pacifier use
Chronic tension in the face, neck, or jaw
Not every person with these symptoms requires Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, but these signs may indicate that the muscles of the mouth and face are not functioning as efficiently as they could.
A Whole-Person, Collaborative Approach
The mouth doesn't work in isolation.
Healthy oral function depends on the airway, nasal breathing, posture, sleep quality, dental development, muscle coordination, and nervous system regulation. Because of this, therapy often works best as part of a collaborative team.
When appropriate, I collaborate with physicians, ENTs, orthodontists, pediatric dentists, airway-focused dentists, lactation consultants, physical therapists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, and other professionals to help ensure every piece of the puzzle is considered.
What Therapy Looks Like
Every treatment plan is individualized.
Sessions may include:
Improving nasal breathing habits
Establishing an appropriate resting tongue posture
Lip closure training
Tongue mobility and coordination exercises
Jaw stability and dissociation activities
Chewing skill development
Swallow retraining
Oral awareness and sensory integration
Functional home practice designed to fit naturally into everyday routines
Consistency between sessions is one of the biggest predictors of success, so home exercises are an important part of therapy. Families and adult clients receive personalized guidance to help integrate these activities into daily life.
Therapy for Adults
Many adults discover Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy after years of living with symptoms that have never fully resolved.
If you've experienced jaw tension, TMJ discomfort, mouth breathing, snoring, orthodontic relapse, poor sleep, chronic facial muscle fatigue, or have been referred by your dentist or physician, Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy may be an important part of your care.
It is never too late to improve breathing patterns, oral function, and muscle coordination.
Why Together Bloom?

I take the time to understand how your breathing, sleep, feeding history, speech, posture, oral habits, and daily routines interact so therapy addresses the underlying patterns—not simply the symptoms.
